Spirits Academy: Smart Spirits Drinkers Love Science, Truth

Spirits Academy is presented to give the spirits drinkers a deeper understanding of the basic science of evaluating spirits. Even more, we rely on natural science to support every aspect of the spirits craft. Ultimately, fermentation, distillation, and maturation are the basic sciences that create spirits. Glass geometry, biophysics, and gaseous diffusion are the sciences that govern perception.

Science: Directly Connected to Enjoyable Experiences

We humans attempt to discover just how well spirits can please us. As a matter of fact, evaluation is the search for the wonderful, hedonistic enjoyment experience. There are many ways to enjoy and evaluate spirits, some better than others. Our Spirits Academy Mission is to show you how evaluation methods work, how your body senses and deciphers the flavors and aromas, and how you can improve your understanding of the creation process and what it finally delivers to you.

Education: Knowledge is a Powerful Tool

You can’t participate well in any activity in life unless you are willing to learn more about it. We shake our heads when we see social media responses like DNRTL (Did not read, too long). Invariably, those are the same people who will trip over a dollar to pick up a dime or ignore long term consequences for immediate or imagined benefit. They nearly always discount scientific fact. Education is a powerful tool. Therefore, it is necessary to read, learn, and use it. My dad used to say, “Use your head for something besides a hat rack.” As spirits drinkers, you should know that each sip has the power to teach something new. Therefore, Spirits Academy is here for you.

As we see the need to provide more insight, we will add to Spirits Academy and NEAT Newsletter. In the meantime, we wish all of you who have a higher interest in spirits a most enjoyable and rewarding experience. One should always remember that the joy is in the hunt.
